Here, survivors lead the way.

She Matters began as a way for survivors to find one another– to be seen, heard, and believed. It grew from a simple truth: survivors deserve spaces where their voices are not only welcomed, but valued. Today, that foundation of connection carries forward as a community-driven movement working to transform how care, justice, and healing are accessed after sexual violence.

As a survivor-led organization, our work is guided by lived experience and the knowledge that those who have walked this path understand it deeply. We are here to walk alongside you – offering support, education, and digital tools that help survivors understand their rights, explore their options, and choose what healing looks like for themselves.

Everything we do is rooted in lived experience, compassion, and a commitment to ensuring that every survivor, no matter who they are or where they live, can access trauma-informed care, supportive community, and pathways to justice and healing.

Our work is not about speaking for survivors. It's about creating the space, support, and tools so survivors can share their stories, be believed, and access the care and justice they deserve.

Our Acknowledgement

She Matters serves communities across Canada, on the traditional and treaty lands of many First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples. We recognize the diverse Indigenous Nations who have cared for these lands and waters since time immemorial and whose relationships with them continue today.

Our work is primarily based in Ontario, including Stoney Creek, Sudbury and Toronto. We acknowledge that these communities are situated within the traditional and treaty territories of diverse Indigenous Nations, including the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee and Huron-Wendat Peoples.

As a survivor-led organization, we recognize that colonialism continues to shape experiences of violence, safety and access to care. We are committed to approaching our work with respect, accountability and an ongoing responsibility to learn from and build meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities.
